An exhibition poster from the Galerie De Cannes, text letterpress and featuring a reproduction of the lithographic L'Atelier, by Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), painted in Cannes in 1956; likely one of the lithographs on display at the exhibit. An uncommon poster for an exhibition of four of the major artists of the twentieth-century. This exhibition would have taken place in the last decade of these artist's lives, after they'd achieved a great deal of fame. Georges Braque (1882-1963) in particular was a close companion of Picasso, and their work in its earlier years greatly inspired and informed each other; this would have been one of the last times Braque and Picasso exhibited together during Braque's lifetime.
