Ansel Adams schafft es, dass sich unser Blick im Wald verliert. Wir tauchen förmlich in ihn hinein, die Bäume ziehen uns Betrachter in den tiefen dunklen Hintergrund hinein. Zugleich lässt uns die Detailgenauigkeit von einem Ort zum nächsten schweifen und uns stundenlang im Bild verweilen. Adams ist insbesondere für seinen Perfektionismus und den Detailreichtum seiner Bilder bekannt. Die Aufnahme strotzt von einer unglaublichen Tiefenschärfe, die es zulässt das Bild selbst in übergrossem Format zu reproduzieren. Vorliegend aber ein mittleres Format, auf dem bereits die volle Pracht der eigentlich so einfachen, kahlen Landschaft schon wunderbar übertragen wird.
Der vorliegende Abzug stammt aus dem Portfolio VI, erschienen in New York 1974 bei Parasol Press, das insgesamt 10 Abzüge aus der Schaffensperiode 1932 - 1953 umfasste.
Winzige Retusche am linken Bildrand, leichte Drucke stelle rechts vom Bildmittelpunkt. Im oberen Rand vom Trägerkarton Klebeband-Rückstände von altem Passepartout, Trägerkarton verso etwas fleckig. Ansonsten in sehr guter Erhaltung.

Ansel Adams manages to get our eyes lost in the forest. We literally immerse ourselves in it, the trees pull us viewers into the deep, dark background. At the same time, the level of detail allows us to wander from one place to the next and stay in the picture for hours. Adams is particularly known for his perfectionism and the wealth of detail in his images. The recording boasts an incredible depth of field, which allows the image to be reproduced even in an oversized format. But this is a medium format that wonderfully conveys the full splendor of the actually simple, bare landscape.
The present print comes from Portfolio VI, published in New York in 1974 by Parasol Press, which included a total of 10 prints from the creative period 1932 - 1953.
To the left image margin tiny retouching, pressure mark to the right center (both only visible in counterlight). To the top margin of the cardboard adhesive tape residues, slightly stained on verso. Otherwise in very good condition.
