Skulls is a series of four screenprints Warhol created based on a photograph of a skull taken by his assistant. Warhol was encapsulated with an interest in light, and these prints are are his experiments in how shadows played with still-life imagery. These play into Warhol’s obsession with death and disaster, an important contrast to his focus on celebrity culture. We have two works from this series available for purchase. They are from an extremely small edition of 50, and are signed and numbered in pencil by Andy Warhol.
