Andy Warhol created Mick Jagger 145 for his 1975 portfolio of ten screenprints featuring the infamous rock star. The image is based on a Polaroid photograph that Warhol took of Mick Jagger in his studio. Warhol layered the image in a collage-like style with scraps of green, purple, grey, and black paper. In Mick Jagger 145, the star is standing to the side with his turned straight toward the camera, as if he making eye contact with the viewer. Andy Warhol, who is known for his celebrity portraits and obsession with fame, created Mick Jagger 145 at the height of his fame.
