Publ. by Galerie René Drouin, Paris, 26 mai 1949. First edition in French of the book "Über das Geistige in der Kunst" by Wassily Kandinsky, first published in 1911/12. Apart from being a book of personal confession by Kandinsky, it is one of the most influential books on art theory and at the same time the first manifesto of abstraction. With the colour woodcut "Drei Reiter in Rot, Blau und Schwarz" printed from the original blocks, which was first published in Kandinsky's book "Klänge" from 1913.
